Your Trails is offering two extended tours focusing on Indigenous land management in the Wet Tropics to complement the field trip program for the 51st Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation. Both tours are limited to six guests.

Itinerary

Tour one: Friday 18 July – Sunday 20 July

Day 1 & 2: See the Daintree Rainforest via remote bush tracks accessible only by 4×4 (conditions permitting). Meet traditional owners and learn about Indigenous land management techniques and culture. Overnight stay at beautiful Mungumby Lodge. Wildlife spotting on a Daintree River Cruise. Day 3: Gondwanan relicts and upland bird endemics of the Wet Tropics field trip.

Tour two: Friday 25 July – Sunday 27 July

Day 1: Daintree canopy crane and drought experiment field trip. Day 2 & 3: See the Daintree Rainforest via remote bush tracks accessible only by 4×4 (conditions permitting). Meet traditional owners and learn about Indigenous land management techniques and culture. Visit historic Cooktown. Overnight stays at beautiful Mungumby Lodge. Wildlife spotting on a Daintree River Cruise.
